When local Chinese were secretly setting off sky lanterns often for wedding receptions for birthdays in Washtenaw County, Michigan they clammed up. Cars would stop on the side of the highway to look at the apparent UFOs and call them in to law enforcement.
The Chinese never admitted they were doing it. The lanterns can cause fires, of course. Secretive. Silent.
Once these “immigrants” illegally enter they go to the places where we can’t find them.

There is a holiday next to my house. My wife spoke to a migrant couple from El Salvador. He said he just jumped into the caravan. They are not sure whos’ behind it. Someone is paying for them a hundreds of people to stay for free in the Holiday Inn. He said there’s people from China and Africa among the immigrants housed there. He said they are all provided 3 meals a day free at the holiday inn.
