The Republican National Committee on Friday afternoon said it would pause participation in further Republican presidential primary debates, effectively leaving decisions around future debates up to media organizations and the 2024 Republican presidential candidates themselves.

RNC FINALLY bails on sponsoring anymore pointless clown-car debates ... took 'em long enough!

Gulliver won the debates by refusing to debate a gaggle of loser Lilliputians, who bickered each other to pieces on live television ...

The debates on both major parties are nothing but a series of manipulations by the liberals for years. Now the RNC tries to to run a couple and find out it is nothing more than stacking the deck with questions designed to shape what the questioner wishes to accomplish, not showcase the candidates answers. It is always a series of do you only beat your wife on weekdays?

The candidates are out there on the trails and are being misreported all the time anyway. So if the libs run the questions, they accomplish the point they try for. If the conservatives run the questions, it ends up being blood bath in the next day’s news and nobody wins. Don’t have them. They are an opportunity to fail no matter what. And they don’t do anything in presentation but offer someone to twist what is being said till the candidate is completely swamped.

Excellent insight on Gulliver. We should fire the Marxist professors and hire you to teach literature!

I would agree...it was an attempt to sell people on DeSantis and/or Haley. They probably added up the numbers from each debate and realized that the only person gaining ‘respect’ was Vilek. So they are a waste of time.

Looking back over 20 years, I’d now say that 99-percent of the debates run by the Republican national folks...were marginal or failures. Planned this way or accidental, I can’t say.

People will have to go back to asking their quacks to prescribe sleep drugs again. Debates used to lull them so efficiently.😴💤💤

CNN, NBC, PBS, MSDNC, SeeBS, the RNC is going to bail on these neutral arbiters of truth? Blasphemy!

Ronna McRomney did that.

How much money have they wasted trying to push compromised RINO’s on the people, that they could have used to fight Democrats instead?

According to this Conservative Treehouse article, CNN went rogue and announced these debates without telling anyone or getting RNC approval. Even the announced debate venues were caught off guard and had not agreed to participate. I’m no fan of the RNC, but it does appear that, in this instance they were not at fault.

“Planned this way or accidental, I can’t say.”

You have displayed the real problem with these in your post as nothing more than a meat market display of different cuts all beef or all pork and so on. But these glamore shows don’t really accomplish anything. If the candidates were actually backing the platform of the party, they would all sound like a broken record.

But they weren’t sent to their, and God knows I get a bad taste in my mouth with this word, “respective” positions either senate, house, or the POTUS/vicePOTUS positions to represent themselves for that state across the nation. They were voted in by people sold on local interests. So the buck actually stops there, for a while.

They play act for national/international business. And most only recognize diplomacy when it agrees with the people who vote them in. And the more they seem to be voted in the more they wish to keep their job and not do the will of anyone to include those back home. People like Arnold made a living at flexing their muscles in public. The only difference is that one was almost naked and could hide nothing while the other is still hiding in the basement only coming out to be worshiped...for nothing.

Once again, Sundance nails it.

Especially this part...

“The CNN announcement, and the gleeful almost immediate acceptance by DeSantis et al, reflects a general desperation. The effort to stop Trump now falls on the leftist corporate media, who are aligned with the remaining four GOP candidates: DeSantis, Haley, Ramaswamy and Christie.
