I don’t see her as so much absorbed by politics and governing as she is simply looking for a career niche related to profiting off of the field of politics.

If Liz Cheney is so concerned about the Republic, maybe she should run for Congress.
Oh, wait. Liz last ran for Congress in 2022, and she got absolutely crushed in the primary. So maybe she’s an idiot who should just shut up and go away.

Lizard is scared shitless of Trump winning again and actually revealing what her dad and all the rest have been doing behind the scenes for YEARS. If it gets exposed, just like Bush#1 said, they won’t be able to walk down the street.

She’s sort of, you know, stupid. She's not stupid, however she thinks that we are.
And what level of hatred toward another person would propel them to run for an office that he or she could never win, just to cancel them out of spite?
That was, I believe, what drove Perot. IIRC, he was score-settling with the elder Bush on a trivial matter.
It worked for Perot, of course. Enough disaffected GOPers voted for Perot, thinking that he had a remote chance. These GOPers, wanting to make a foolish "statement", put Clinton in for 8 years of national ickiness.
Cheney could do the same. She won't take votes from Dems, they are obedient. She will take votes from Trump (who has chosen to make way too many enemies).

"... there’s a lot that has to be done to begin to rebuild the Republican Party, potentially to rebuild a new conservative party"Damn! I never thought I'd agree with this miserable turncoat shrew about anything, but there it is.

She very likely is going through a SERIOUS case of menopause, IMO. Hot flashes, conflicted emotions, misplace anger and antipathy all rolled up into a burned out husk reeling from the statewide humiliating voter repudiation she got when she last ran. The only thing you can do with someone in this condition is to stay away from it and not listen or speak to it.

former President Donald Trump because he is an “existential threat.” More like he's an existential hope for America.

Didn’t her father tell us Saddam Hussein was an existential threat?
Where are the weapons of mass destruction, Liz?

Notice she never really explains what exactly what it is about Trump that she is afraid of. Its all nothing but emotional rants.
The same thing is true with most of the liberal Trump haters. Diatribes but no facts.

Every time I see Cheney popul in the news, I keep asking myself, what relevance does she have, why does she think she has any relevance today, and does she really, really think anyone cares what she thinks or says? She gets airtime as she is or once was a Republican and is more than willing to attack other Republicans.
