I think it is just the cost of the food.
The Mrs and I stopped at the grocery store yesterday. We needed a few things. The cart was about half full. $205.
No steaks, no fancy fresh fish. Just normal stuff. Inflation on food has been the worst of anything

And that’s why food (and energy) are never included in calculations of “core inflation”. Those things are just too “volatile”, dontcha know?

Yes, we have really noticed the jump in the grocery shopping the last two trips. I am not sure where the hit was as we do not buy much meat or snacks. We are also on fixed incomes.

We need another freezer to keep ahead of price hikes.

And yet the price of beer hasn’t been affected much.

I’ve noticed.

The price of eggs is up again, and laundry detergent is ridiculous.
