EU nations need to win over Hungary for summit support on Ukraine

Hungary appeared on a collision course on Wednesday with fellow European Union members over Ukraine's bid to join the wealthy bloc, a dispute that could hold up Kyiv's membership drive and was set to overshadow an EU summit.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban reaffirmed his opposition to offering neighbouring Ukraine fast-track accession at this week's summit, saying to parliament this would not serve the interests of Hungary or the 27-member EU.

With both sides digging in their heels, Ukraine's hopes of securing much-needed financial and military assistance to fight Russian invasion forces hung in the balance.

"Our stance is clear. We do not support Ukraine's quick EU entry," Orban, a conservative nationalist who is Russian President Vladimir Putin's closest ally in the EU, said in a post on Facebook.

Orban has threatened to block proposals to allow Kyiv to start accession talks and to receive substantial financial and military aid from the EU budget.

Kyiv wants to join the EU and build alliances with the West as it distances itself further from former fellow Soviet republic Russia, while 50 billion euros ($54 billion) of economic support and 20 billion euros for Ukraine's military would be vital for its war effort.

EU entry??? The way it’s going there may just be a tiny, rump nation called Ukraine in the near future. That said, the EU has entry requirements, GDP, wealth, debt, etc…..I really, really doubt the EU will take on a bankrupt, destroyed nation, requiring $800 billion to rebuild.

The EU is already broke, should they take a broke, beggar nation under its wings, it ensures of their own demise. I dare them, do it! Political decisions made in haste, ALWAYS ends in disaster….a break up of of the EU is welcomed in my book.

Now up to 3 states objecting

Third EU state objects to Ukrainian membership talks

“Austria has joined Hungary and Slovakia in opposing fast track procedures for accepting Ukraine and Moldova into the union”

Slovakia is waffling but Austria seems unlikely to agree to giving Zelensky $50 billion Euro bucks

Taking in a member that is forcibly conscripting men and women, outlawing churches, exercised govt control over media, cancelled elections, is notoriously corrupt, maintains and uses an international assassination target list of those who offend the regime, lives nearly completely on foreign aid and has an obvious track record of despising and abusing its minorities ….seems unlike the rest of the EU.

The Euros need to figure out a way to deport the millions of Muslims whose noxious habits and customs are poisoning their homelands.

Ha!

As a side note, it’s interesting how Reuters calls Orbán “Putin’s closest ally”, as if Hungary is sending tanks to Putin, or something like that.

Orbán simply puts his own country first, a concept that other European leaders should seriously consider before it’s too late.

God separated the Nations at the Tower of Babel. Nationalism is his creation. Nationalism is the enemy of Globalists. Globalism is Satanic because it requires that all nations be weakened to such an extent that they are dependent upon the Globalists.

Be good to add millions to of non-muslioids to the E.U population. Counterbakance to all the muslioids pouring in. Orban has forgotten Soviet tanks. Hungary could quit the EU and Ukraine take it’s place.

Nationalists respect other nations, Hitler clearly didn’t. He was the EU before the EU.

Thoughtful nationalism is one thing, but saying nationalism per se is the enemy of globalism is wrong. If by nationalism one is talking about putting your own countries needs and interests first, and if by globalism one is talking about global governance by an elite neo fuedalism, than I agree nationalism is opposed to it. But nationalism that is a springboard for global control is another thing. It is globalism. Just a different form of it
