It’s amazing in the IT world how quickly it goes from “We need more diversity” to “We need to get more work out more quickly by any means necessary”.
I had a boss who set out to hire a black programmer. He ended up bypassing good candidates to hire a BS artist. He finally and mercifully got a better job somewhere, got fired from that immediately for lying on his resume and tried to sue us for wrongful termination. My boss didn’t hire any more diverse programmers.
