US economist predicts 2024 will bring 'biggest crash of our lifetime'.
Fox News ^ | 12.19.2023 | Kristin Altus

As the clock ticks closer to 2024, one outspoken economist is making a dire predication about the markets in the new year. "Since 2009, this has been 100% artificial, unprecedented money printing and deficits; $27 trillion over 15 years, to be exact. This is off the charts, 100% artificial, which means we're in a dangerous state," Harry Dent told Fox News Digital. "I think 2024 is going to be the biggest single crash year we'll see in our lifetimes."

My long-time, excellent WF broker said last week, that he sees a "moderate" recession ahead in '24; I see something worse ahead, but I haven't ever slept at a Holiday Inn Express. Seems something is coming... we'll know when it's all over, I guess.

I'm expecting the disaster to hit in 2025, or more realistically, be so apparent that the most liberal liberals can no longer deny it.

Just about the same time that the Kevin McCarthy - Chuck Schumer - Joe Biden deal to not increase the national debt more than 4 TRILLION dollars in 19 months expires. That means all of the pandemic excess spending will be actually spent, so the real economy becomes more dependent on normal people spending their own money.

The federal reserve will do everything in its power to forestall the collapse into Trump takes office. That way they can pin it on him.

Harry Dent has a serious reputation. And what he says makes sense.

On the other hand, economists have predicted 9 of the last 2 recessions.

I think Dent is right about a major crash. It has to happen. But he’s got the timing wrong. Our reckless friends in DC still have a few cards to play. They can still service the debt. They can still borrow and spend.

So not in 2024. 2030, maybe?

If Trump wins in 2024, all the bad economic news will come out in January 2025, and it will all be Trump’s fault. $34T deficit??? Why did Trump do this to us?? Multiple wars all over the world?? Darn that Trump! US energy production projected to fall far short?? Why does Donald Trump hate America?? Out of control immigration?? Is Trump an idiot??

If the Deep State is smart, it is deciding on two options for the upcoming crash, which they have to forestall until 2025. The first is to let Trump win, so that MAGA can be blamed and its strength emaciated (cf. Herbert Hoover). The second is to have its stooge in power, so that they can immediately implement the revolution and complete the destruction of America.

Harry Dent and the chamber of poor returns

“The true story is that Dent’s success as a forecaster would be more accurately compared to the blind squirrel who occasionally finds an acorn — make enough forecasts and you eventually will get one right.”

They won’t let Trump win because it will guarantee the end of their existence.

Why do you think Lizard Cheney (and the entire Obama/Biden/Clinton cabal) is so afraid of Trump? I tell you, heads ARE going to be separated from bodies in 2024 if Trump is allowed to regain power. Many, many executions are going to take place.

And if the American people are denied a Trump presidency, then this time, you will see a real insurrection.

The Deep State is cornered. They know their days are numbered. Better for them to do what Joseph Goebbels did to himself than wait for what’s coming. 2024 will be known as the year of pain, retribution and punishment.

If they care about their country, they should be ‘rigging’ the 2024 election for the 45th President. The Biden/Harris virus must be defeated or an American Renaissance will become an impossibility.

However, I won’t be “holding my breath” on the deep state having any sanity.

I’m not real familiar with his prior ‘predictions’, but make enough of them, and eventually one will come to fruition.

Damn...Joe “The Big Guy” had best get hot and get those printing presses rollin’. I don't know, but I been told M2 is droppin’ sorta like it did on previous occasions when inflation became deflation and prices were affordable; but nobody (except ol’ Joe Kennedy) had enough geetis to buy spit.

Agree. 2024 is an election year. All lollipops and roses until after the election. If Trump should miraciously overcome the steal and be elected, the house of cards will come down shortly thereafter and he will be blamed. If brandon stays alive long enough to steal the general, well, the economy crashes and that is that.

It's like an Indian rain dance. Eventually, you know, it is going to rain.

So true.

I had investments during the the great 2008 recession and the 2001 tech bubble recession. I like many, lost a great deal in both because #1 - I sold in a panic; #2 - I wasn't adequately diversified.

The past tells us that the market can lose a great deal of its value. If you're not prepared for that, you shouldn't invest in the market. It wasn't uncommon for investors to have lost 40% of their portfolio's value during the 2008 Great Recession; and loses averaging 38% during the 2001 Tech Recession.

Believe me, when you see your portfolio lose 40% of its value, it takes a great deal of discipline and faith to believe the market will eventually rebound, which could be in years. Like so many, I lacked that discipline and faith and lost a good bit.

Now that I'm retired and up in years, I realize that if the market falls into another deep recession, I may not have time (years) to see it bounce back. My investments today are defensive, i.e., positioned to avoid the 40% losses seen in past recessions.
