Farmers and tractors amass in thousands in Berlin to protest Germany's ‘war’ on industry

German farmers have accused Olaf Scholz of declaring “war” on their industry as they amassed in Berlin to protest against cuts to fuel subsidies and tax breaks.

Some 10,000 agricultural workers descended on the capital’s Brandenburg Gate on Monday with 3,000 tractors, bringing traffic to a standstill as they demanded an about-turn on plans by the German chancellor’s coalition administration.

Berlin says that ending farmers’ diesel subsidies and vehicle tax exemption are a necessary part of austerity measures aimed at resolving the country’s budget crisis in 2024.

But the German government is now facing a potentially major revolt from agricultural workers about the changes.

Some farmers carried placards to Monday’s demonstrations that claimed Mr Scholz had declared “war” on their industry.

“Too much is too much, it’s over now!” fumed another placard.

Since they were able to organize this mass protest in Berlin, maybe they should change tactics and come up with a Terms of Service Agreement with every wholesaler they sell to. If any wholesaler distributes, sells or causes or allows this product to be delivered or sold within 200 miles of Berlin, they are immediately prohibited from future purchases. STARVE THEM.

When you elect the insane you get insanity

You sure got that right!

Start the insane concepts and put them into action like, cut off cheap gas from Russia and closing down all your low-cost energy nuclear plants.

Smart. Real Smart.

By the way, we've done much worse on this side of the ocean, haven't we?

The error was starting the fuel subsidies in the first place. Having distorted the marketplace in fuels and created generations of government dependents, you do have to blame the government for the crisis.

I was gonna say that this article oddly hopeful.

Unlike the Dutch psychos, the Germans aren’t scuttling their farms altogether for climate stupidity - just taxing them for budget stupidity like the good ol’ days.

Still sucks, just not as bad.

Germany shut six nuclear plants while reopening coal fired plants and opening new coal mines.

But the USA will be in a class by itself when Brandon breaches 4 hydro dams in Washington State.

Sorry farmers. Gotta pay for the illegal alien invasion. Those guys can’t be expected to work. 99% of the rapefugees are on welfare and the 1% that do work is for welfare agencies making sure they hand out welfare.
