The White House on Wednesday touted the record-breaking numbers of people signing up for health insurance plans through the Affordable Care Act’s exchanges, with almost a month left in open enrollment.
More than 15 million people to date have signed up for health insurance, a 33 percent increase over the same point last year. The administration said it estimates more than 19 million people will have selected plans by the Jan. 16 deadline, an increase of 7 million compared to when President Biden took office.

Exactly right. We know that those illegals are not paying for ObamaCare insurance premiums themselves. It is getting paid by American taxpayers when illegal aliens are given $5000 monthly EBT cards.

Unless they have fake SS cards, they wouldn’t be eligible for Obamacare. My guess for the increase enrollment is the government has greatly relaxed financial limits for the program since Covid began. Also Medicaid is kicking a bunch of people off the rolls since Covid funding has expired.
My first thought was more people were signing up because their income is low enough that they get a fat subsidy on the exchange.
I guess we’ll see if there is a follow up story next year about how much more money has to be pumped into Obamacare subsidies.
They are not all crap plans. You can get a gold PPO plan. You can have a lot of wealth (eg paid off home and cars and savings) but with low income, qualify for subsidies. You can be 30 years old, live with your parents, have a low paying job…. You qualify. The best plans are very expensive. Taxpayers will pay half if you qualify.
