A kosher Upper East Side cafe was subjected to a second antisemitic attack in four days — and the outraged owner is challenging the city to do something about it.
Hummus Kitchen on Second Avenue was targeted Sunday night by an unhinged woman who tried to cover up an Israel/US flag, pushed an employee, and stormed off after giving staff the middle finger, according to police and disturbing videos shared on social media. The Sunday strike comes on the heels of a Dec. 13 incident in which a Paterson, NJ woman tried to tear down the restaurant’s flag in an antisemitic rampage before flinging soup at a worker and flipping the bird.
“I’m worried about my employees. I want them to feel comfortable,” owner Sharon Hoota, who is Israeli, told The Post. “Of course I’m angry . . . and I’m very sorry that we need to feel scared to show our flags. The city doesn’t do anything to help us feel more protected.”

Well Ms Hoota, definitely wrong on that.
I’m not big on the blended US/Israel flag, even if the motivation behind such is likely benign. I would rather have one of each.
That said, it is private property, and a Kosher restaurant is as likely place as any to have such a display, and no one has to eat there.
In gentler times, a place with a name like Hummus Kitchen would likely attract Muslim customers as well as some who have no dietary restrictions.
Just a few months ago, I got takeout at a Kosher Jewish pizza place in north Phoenix. It took me a little bit to figure out what the place was about. Eventually, I put some information, (No Friday Night/Saturday hours, lack of meat on the menu, demeanor of other patrons), and it didn’t keep me from enjoying my cheese pizza, even if it wasn’t all that inspired, as pizzas go.

I’m not one to point towards someone’s physical appearance but in all honesty, there is nothing cerebral between those ears of hers, so I am left with just looks to go on.
Of course, the chicken-$hit New York New Soup Nazi, Mayra Teke removed herself from all social media platforms because that is what chicken-$hit people do when they come under fire for doing stupid things. Again, I will say, God bless the Internet.

Ironic and a coincidence that Ms. Teke is from Paterson? I think not. Any one from Jersey remembers the stories of Muslims in New Jersey celebrating the 9/11 attacks. The stories are now largely buried by newsfeeds as “fictionalized accounts of Donald Trump” but those who live through this know the truth. These claims were “outrageous”, they say. But, were they?
