The major adverse effect for me is reduced buying power of money. I’m 65 and don’t need to buy much.

True but this occupies a small part of their brains. Let face it. At least 75% of US adults are mostly zoned out on politics and the fate of our nation.
Their real concerns are family, money and children. Then sportsball for the men //// with fashions, looking good, losing weight for the women.
