I suspect the SCOTUS is twisting itself in knots over this, trying to leave it stand as a state’s rights issue.
“I suspect the SCOTUS is twisting itself in knots over this, trying to leave it stand as a state’s rights issue.”
Can you cite any case where the Court was concerned with state’s rights, or acknowledged any such concept?
“SCOTUS”
It needs to understand that after Trump is out of the way, the Democratic wolves will arrive at its doors.
The Election of 1860 kind of stands out as precedent. 8 Southern states did not allow Lincoln’s name to appear on their ballot. This occurence was never addressed in SCOTUS decisions or in Law.
If they do this our republic is SCREWED! Kiss your freedoms good bye!
Correct me if I'm mistaken, but the SCOTUS rejected to rule on any 2020 fraud case brought to them. I believe some of their reasoning was because voting/election issues are state issues and therefore need to be addressed by the state(s).
I have zero confidence in the current SCOTUS shooting down states that remove Trump from the ballot. I can hear them using the same lame "it's a state issue" argument(s) they used in 2020 for voter fraud.
If nothing else it is a federal civil rights violation. Depriving some one of his rights without due process of law. Since the criminals are so excited to cite the 14th amendment section 3, they should first look at section 1. If any of this malfeasance holds up under sc scrutiny, it will signal the concrete end of the Constitutional Republic of the United States.
I think Roberts desperately wants Trump gone and is trying HARD to build a SCOTUS consensus to make it a states right issue rather than a US Constitutional issue. That way he can get rid of Trump and still think he will come out smelling like roses in the history books.
