DOJ urges U.S. Supreme Court to let Border Patrol cut Texas' razor wire
Axios ^ | 1/2/24 | Rebecca Falconer

The Biden administration asked the U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday to permit Border Patrol agents to cut razor wire at U.S. border with Mexico that Texas officials constructed to prevent migrant crossings.

The big picture: The Justice Department's filing of an emergency motion is the latest turn in a legal stoush between the Biden administration and officials in the Republican-led state, which which follows an appeals court last month temporarily blocking the removal of the wire.

Driving the news: Solicitor General Elizabeth Prelogar asked the justices to pause the recent ruling, saying the Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has "the power and duty to control and guard the boundaries" and borders of the U.S.

"Texas's barriers in Eagle Pass impede agents' ability to apprehend and inspect migrants under federal law," Prelogar argues. What they're saying: Texas Gov. Greg Abbott responded to the filing on Tuesday in a post to X saying: "See you in court."

He added that "Americans & courts will reject Biden's hostility to immigration laws" and that Texas "will continue to deploy National Guard to build border barriers & repel illegal immigrants."

It’s time to defund Xidenskyyyyy’s criminal “border patrol.” It is another worthless, weaponized government agency.

Way to go Abbott. DOJ boys at the top...many, many of us want to try you for treason and receive punishment dictated by law. Your actions amount to treason causing harm to this country by aiding and abetting those breaking the law trying to get in.

They do NOT share our values and have little to no intention of assimilating (I am FLUENTLY bilingual to the point that the illegals ask me from WHICH country I came...literally. I deal with them EVERY DAY at my job, so, I know more about these cultures than almost all Americans). You want to process them through courts so immigration lawyers (who pay off Congressmen) and the Federal offices that charge them fees for applications can get rich. May God give you what you deserve.

“”The Biden administration asked the U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday to permit Border Patrol agents to cut razor wire at U.S. border with Mexico””

.

Cut the wire eh?

OK.

Cut about a thousand 15’ sections, prop the coils open with 5’ sticks and toss them in the river at all cartel human smuggling points.

Cant be seen and still does the job.

If The Big Guy wants it cleared BP is gonna need SCUBA gear to find it.

Watch the removal teams and when they start to clear some areas float a boat through it with teams tossing all new cut up razor wire.

If BP is sloppy one just might be able to liberate the wire BP is pulling out of the river and the teams on the boat can toss it back in again.

.

Every state has the right to control its own borders.

More federal government overreach.

"Texas's barriers in Eagle Pass impede agents' ability to apprehend and inspect migrants..."

If they leave the barriers up, perhaps they wouldn't need to apprehend and inspect migrants. Just a thought.

...Solicitor General Elizabeth Prelogar asked the justices to pause the recent ruling, saying the Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has "the power and duty to control and guard the boundaries" and borders of the U.S.

Is that how they "patrol and guard the boundaries" - by tearing them down? By cutting the fences to allow trespassers to escape?

This should be a no-brainer for the judge.

Not even Biden can deny any longer that his border policy is to flood the country with illegal aliens.
