I have battery operated hand tools.
Owning them will immunize you against a battery operated vehicle.
My son and DIL leased a new dual motor Tesla. They live in NYC and he’s had it for over a year. He seems pretty happy with it and has made the trek from NYC to N GA twice so far with no problems. They really don’t need it and only use it for pleasure day trips to locations in or around NYC and adjacent.
That said, I wouldn’t have one for myself because of the logistics involved (charging stations at home and on travel and one-time range). I’m glad, though, his is just a lease and he turns it in after three years so he doesn’t have to worry about the battery replacement issue.
My neighbor has horses that fulfill that purpose.
