The Spanish government banned a Human Events special about the Spanish Civil War from X, on the basis that it is "Illegal or Harmful Speech."
A message from X to Human Events host Jack Posobiec reads, "In accordance with applicable law, X is now permanently withholding the reported content in Spain, specifically for the following legal grounds: Illegal or Harmful Speech."
X explained in its notification that Posobiec can appeal the decision internally or, may challenge the decision "in an out-of-court Dispute settlement Proceeding or by filing a lawsuit with a competent court."
In the restricted post from Dec. 28, Posobiec wrote, "By the Grace of God" with a cross and Spanish flag emoji. the post had an attached video montage of former Spanish dictator Francisco Franco and a link to the Human Events Daily podcast Episode 636: Chronicles of the Revolution- The Last Crusade."

During the Episode, Posobiec and guest Blake Neff discussed the Spanish Civil War and how it is told "completely backwards" and taught wrong in schools. The war is usually described as a war that started from a far-right uprising but was between Christianity and communism.
The two discussed Warren H Carrol's book 'The Last Crusade,' and how it is the only book printed in English that describes the trusty of the 1930s war.

Is Generalissmo Franciso Franco still dead???
Can they both lose?
The leftists on SNL mocked Franco because he was effectively anti-communist.
The pro-Franco stuff can be seen hung from balconies all over Spain. Thats how the Spanish conduct their disputes. They hang flags and banners and placards on their balconies. One guy, a socialist, has a CNT(anarchist union) flag, another has a Catalan or Basque flag, their neighbor has a Republican flag (the bottom stripe is purple), his neighbor has a regular Spanish flag (signalling opposition to separatism), the guy down the street may have a Carlist St Andrews cross (raggedy red cross on white), one may back ETA with a placard demanding release of political prisoners (ubiquitous in the Basque country). Etc and etc.
At election time some streets get quite colorful. I have to say that Vox has added to the variety.
And they all have a balcony. I think thats a law.
Yes, they can both lose. And they should both lose.
Dictatorship and tyranny is not a valid path for Christians. John Locke was right. Through observation, the scientific method, and the recognition of Right Reason in accordance with Natural Law, all humans have individual God-Given rights.
No dictatorship can handle having that throw in their face, doesn’t matter how big-time Christian they claim to be. And any dictatorship deserves to have it thrown in their face, good and hard.

The fascists won. We are all fascists now. We remain undecided on the flavor.
I will get flamed for this. Don’t care.
About the only thing the Nazis ever did right was to intervene in in the Spanish Civil War on behalf of Franco. Given the incredible legacy of death, destruction, murder, evil committed by Communist governments, all communist governments, it was the right thing to do.
Wow! Very Biden-esque...
Both Hugh Thomas and Anthony Beevor are fair. Beevors book is quite a good sprightly read IMHO, an excellent place to start, Thomas is a comprehensive fact dump.
Preston (the current standard) is a commie.
Stanley Payne is very good on Spanish politics of both sides.
I dont know if Pio Moa (Los Mitos de La Gurra Civil, etc ) is out in English, but his stuff is worth getting.
Viva El Caudillo
You ain’t wrong.
Spain must be run by leftists. Their loss.
To my thinking Franco was a hero
I’m with you on this
Face it - we’re in WW 3 against the communists.
Communists and islamists.
For three years, I lived in Spain during Franco’s rule. They were a proud people in the early 1970s and I enjoyed every day. It helped to have money, but there was no resentment.
Their advice was to not attract the attention of the State Police, (Guardia Civil), so I stayed out of their sight. (Easily identified by their unique patent-leather hats).
We were told that prisoners relied on “family” to keep them fed in prison; otherwise, it was bread and water. Prisoners were free to manufacture items that their families could sell to tourists.
Roads were given priority to attract vacationing foreigners to sunny Spain.
Ive got to say, those were the best of my days in the U.S. military.
