Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) said Monday that she will vote against any bill that results from the $1.6 trillion top-line funding agreement reached Sunday.
Greene said the effort, led by Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.), doesn’t include enough funding for GOP priorities.
“I am a NO to the Johnson Schumer budget deal,” she wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “This $1.6 Trillion dollar budget agreement does nothing to secure the border, stop the invasion, or stop the weaponized government targeting Biden’s political enemies and innocent Americans.”
“So much for the power of the purse!” she added.

The socialist security system should face the same axe as everything else, including all other welfare.
Reduce the government to those few things mentioned specifically as its duties in Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution, and the overspending problem disappears.

I absolutely agree about SS. Try running that by the voters, though. And “having to” pay interest leaves that out of consideration.
Of course. That’s my point. How far do you think a plan to cut, just for example, SS by 20%?
Just suggesting these things is one thing, and easy. Enacting them is another, and dang hard.
