17 states call on the Supreme Court to overturn ruling in favor of parental rights
A coalition of 17 state attorneys general are asking the Supreme Court to recognize parental rights in a case involving a Maryland school district’s transgender policies.
West Virginia is leading the coalition challenging a case involving parents fighting an appeals court ruling that found they did not have the right to sue Montgomery County Public Schools over a policy that allows teachers and administrators to transition children without their parents’ knowledge or consent.
Plaintiffs in the case dubbed the guideline in question the "Parental Preclusion Policy," which their lawyers with the National Legal Foundation argued was a violation of their rights under the Fourteenth Amendment.
The guidelines for transgender-identifying students adopted by the Montgomery County Board of Education in 2020-2021, address a student's identified name, pronouns, athletics, extracurricular activities, locker rooms, bathrooms, "safe spaces, safe zones, and other safety supports."
In August, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit dismissed the case brought by three parents of students at Montgomery County Public Schools over the district's "gender support plan" in a 2 to 1 ruling.
In addition to allowing students to be called by their preferred name and pronoun and use the restroom of their choice, schools are also prohibited from notifying parents without the student’s consent.

This headline could be read both ways. For parents to have the “right” to butcher their kid, or for parents to protect them from the propaganda.
I don’t like what is going on at all with the interference between parents and their children. However, parental rights is not in the Constitution, anyplace. So I don’t see how the SC can do anything in that area. If it’s not in the Constitution then it’s up to the several states.
This entire issue would go away if a few angry fathers paid late night visits to the school administrators pushing this garbage.

exactly. SCOTUS ought to rule any genital mutilation of a child related to gender is forbidden. Perverted parents would do this to kids. So sad.

They’d be arrested and then have their faces end up on Late Night talk shows, ruining their careers and possibly facing the full wrath state and federal justice departments. That’s 21st century America unfortunately.

I couldn't agree more. School councils, City councils, District councils are mostly what I call "joy jobs" for wannabe politicians. We've all seen Parents kicked out of many council hearings.
Fortunately, my kids are grown and didn't experience this "tranny/pro-noun" indoctrination. However, even at my old age, this is hill I would die on if push comes to shove.
Not just the administrators but some elite higher ups as well. The administrators wouldn’t do these things if it weren’t being countenanced by those who still wish to stay in the shadows. They need to be dragged out and exposed.
