I’ve read that the party chooses the running mate, not the potus candidate. Do you know if that’s true?

I’ve read that the party chooses the running mate, not the potus candidate. Do you know if that’s true?It is not true. The presidential candidate chooses his running mate. The presidential candidate undoubtedly seeks advice from people in his inner circle, but ultimately he makes the decision.

I’ve read that the party chooses the running mate, not the potus candidate. Do you know if that’s true? It's a formality. The convention votes on the VP nominee, but always defers to the nominee's wishes. Sometimes there are one or two holdout kooks who try to vote for someone else, but the motion usually comes down to a voice vote or a vote by acclimation.
