There are networked air defense radars all over the place with collectively unlimited horizon.
I have explained why the AWACs approach doesn’t work. Have to go find the comment, too much bother. Synopsis is AWACS signal requires directional antenna on the missile, and thus pointed correctly. Anything non directional will be jammed.
