...and Ernst blindly accepted the premise - while she could well have argued there is no difference.
Consider even those who were over-charged and are no longer imprisoned. They were badgered into pleading to a lesser offense just to get out of a harsh prison environment likely far from home and family.
They now will be held "hostage", likely with fewer personal choices for a lifetime with the shadow of a criminal record.
