Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) said that the former U.S. chief medical adviser, Dr. Anthony Fauci, should “go to prison” over his “dishonesty” in handling the COVID-19 pandemic and lying to Congress.
“For his dishonesty, frankly, he should go to prison,” Paul said during a Sunday interview with radio host John Catsimatidis on “The Cats Roundtable” on WABC 770 AM. “If you lie to Congress, and you’re dishonest, and you won’t accept responsibility. For his mistake in judgment, he should just be pilloried. He should never be accepted.”
He added, “History should judge him as a deficient person who made one of the worst decisions in public health history — in the entire history of the world.”

Fauci going to prison would be to see J6 prisoners locked up there and urging them to get Covid jabs for a photo op to be used in ads.

I don’t think it was just mere dishonesty. I believe it was a campaign of calculated collusion to hide likely illegal actions he and NIH had committed with respect to viral research. He should be charged, tried, found guilty and imprisoned for the rest of his stinking life, IMO.
I’m thinking more like hanged from a light pole and left for the birds of the air and the beasts of the ground.

What a bunch of dishonest grandstanding. What makes it worse is that Rand Paul actually does have some medical training, meaning that he is completely capable of understanding the science. Yet he chooses to debase the entire scientific community because some charlatans who have been in the business of selling snake oil for years convinced him that antiscientific rhetoric is a fundamental conservative principle.
No, rejecting science is NOT a conservative principle.
Those who have targeted conservatives with their antivax/medical misinformation have an agenda. It is not to advance conservatism or help conservatives. It doesn't take much to figure it out, either. Republicans are more likely to die from Covid than Democrats, and the reason for this is that too many Republicans believed the antivaxxers who only want to cause us harm.

When a lot of leftists start spreading the word only among conservatives that vaccines are bad and Covid is harmless, when all of the public health officials are saying otherwise, why aren't more conservatives suspicious of their motives?

Dr. Fauci is highly respected among the scientific community. As a scientist, he is almost a superman--over one thousand publications when a scientist who has 200 publications is considered a very prolific worker. And he did this while heading up a large agency, the NIAID. When I was supervising just 100 people, I never had time for research. But Dr. Fauci managed it. It is because he is an excellent scientist that he was selected to head up the NIAID and then was tagged to lead the response to Covid.
The awards that Dr. Fauci has won are well-deserved. He had a very difficult job leading the pandemic response to a novel virus no one knew anything about. It's a shame his efforts to control the pandemic were actively undermined by professional charlatans and Russian and DNC trolls.
Respectfully, do you know if the deaths “from COVID” weren’t just “with COVID”?
The reason I ask is that my wife worked for a clinic/hospital that was listing almost every death as “from COVID” regardless of comorbidities, probably to get the federal subsidy that was being provided for COVID deaths. So, many of the statistics regarding deaths “from COVID” are seriously corrupted.
I agree that skepticism is our friend. Be wary of disinformation in all forms.
It is also a shame Dr. Fauci chose to be political, instead of a scientist. Why did he not remain apolitical? He has free will, of course!
