I don’t see it that way. For many voters Trump could use Vivek’s transfer perception of integrity honesty, love of the constitution and especially loyalty. To this point, Vivek has been nothing but a stand-up guy supporting Trump. If Vivek loses, it is all good for Trump if the unity is sustained.
I call it the Ben Carson effect.

I agree mostly - I really like Vivek and think he’s been a great contribution to the dialog. There are a lot of true things that only he and a few others have had the balls and the clarity to say - things that really needed to be said.

I also very much liked Vivek’s response where he declined to engage in friendly fire.

However, that stunt with the “save Trump -vote for Vivek” was more than meets the eye. It was super disrespectful. It was certainly out of character for Vivek - and it’s possible he did not think it through, and meant it as a joke. Maybe he thought people would think it’s funny.

Here’s why I don’t think it was at all funny:

President Trump is facing 700 years of prison time, and if that’s not bad enough, I really think they are going to kill him if they can’t stop him any other way. It breaks my heart to say that out loud, but you know these people will stop at nothing.

Due to his courage, strength and bravado, he makes it look like he’s not afraid - but don’t believe that for a second. He’s got to be under a lot of pressure. He’s got to be thinking about how all this will affect his family. He has got to wonder at times whether it is worth it. He’s got to have dark moments of doubt - will this story have a happy ending where he serves his second term? Or will he wind up dying in prison - or worse?

My heart goes out to him and his family. I often fantasize about getting to sit down with him and having the chance to say something to him. I would want to find the right words to tell him how much I admire his courage - and that I actually think of him as a hero.

There’s only one pathway that keeps him out of prison, and that is winning his re-election - that will be the American people rendering their verdict. Innocent. That will also give him a chance to clean up the DOJ.

Vivek should not have joked about “saving Trump” - that was really disrespectful to make light of something that serious.

You know when he made that crack what popped into my head was the humiliation of Nixon having to be pardoned by Ford.

I’m sure Vivek did not mean it that way, but it really rubbed me the wrong way.

I think all these challengers never should have run in the first place - Trump won in 2020 and the election was stolen - any self respecting Republican should have risen to Trump’s defense, and fought hard to contest that election.

Instead they run against him. Shame on them. I thought Vivek was different - I thought he was pro-Trump but just trying to get picked as VP..
