“Under federal law 18 U.S. Code § 111, it is a federal crime to “impede” or “interfere” with certain officers or employees of the federal government.”
Are they on Federal land? The Federal government has limited authority on state or local property. Unlike the movies, the Federal Government can’t walk in and demand authority be relinquished. The CBP has full authority to deal with any illegal alien who exits that park.
And just as the Feds have the authority to arrest a person who interferes, so do the Texas authorities, assuming the national guard there have law enforcement authority. Abbott should threaten to arrest Federal agents who interfere with his officer’s authority.
Abbott should have started arresting Feds months ago when they started damaging State property.
L
100% correct.
But just imagine if throngs of folks show up to support Texas. Fed’s start some sh*t and get violent. Oh what footage that would be on the news, during an election year, with border security being one of the top concerns.
I’m sure that would work out well for Team Biden.
Are they on Federal land?
Forts, ports, and 10 miles square. That's all the land the Fedgov is Constitutionally allowed.
Not that this will stop FJB from doing something stupid.
There is no higher authority in a State than an elected county sheriff. I’d love for feds to show up in Texas and attempt to thwart demands of a county sheriff
It is also unconstitutional and treason to aid and abet invasion.
Good idea!
