Jews Waking Up To Hollywood’s Antisemitism Should Try To Destroy DEI, Not Join Its Ranks

Many Jews have recognized their exclusion from the “diversity, equity, and inclusion” agenda, but they still don’t seem to recognize its inherent dangers.

That was made painfully obvious by the letter signed by 260 Jews in the entertainment industry that was published last week. They protested the new DEI-influenced rules for the Best Picture Oscar that will go into effect for films made this year.

The Oscars have always been as much about commerce and Hollywood politics as excellence. The new rules shoehorn divisive quotas into every film production, demanding that each one includes certain types of people or themes. This reflects how the art world is in thrall to toxic left-wing ideas that are transforming movies from a form of popular entertainment into an exercise in politically correct virtue signaling.

Racial or ethnic quotas have no place in movies or any other form of artistic expression. For the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences — the body responsible for the annual Oscars — to mandate them in this way turns the entire concept of artistic merit on its head.

Back in the 1990s, I estimated that about 85% of the top executives at the studios and talent agencies were Jewish or half Jewish (lots of mixed marriages among Hollywood Jews). I don’t know if it’s still around 85%, but it’s a lot.

It’s hard to be sympathetic to rich, privileged Hollywood Jews who argue that they deserve to be higher on the DIE intersectional totem pole as sympathetic victims. It would be better if they demanded an end to DIE quotas and that work be evaluated based on merit.

Not all of us are, thankfully. I know many people, some former friends, who are the same way. I do not understand them at all, though I understand that some people have absolutely no intellectual honesty or courage, and cannot admit that they’ve ever been wrong.

Hollywood has no new ideas. Changing characters’ races, genders, and sexual preferences is the only thing that makes the constant remakes, retreads, and rebooks look like their bringing audiences something new, so they aren’t getting rid of DEI.

Yes the motion picture industry like media in general is very Jewish and they tend to be woke lefties vast majority

They are just as much motivated by politics as profit now which stands in contrast to the early moguls who knew better

I wish they’d change but I wouldn’t hold my breath

Many generations of fear of persecution and pogroms etc is ingrained
