On Thursday’s broadcast of “CNN This Morning,” Biden Campaign Co-Chair Sen. Chris Coons (D-DE) responded to a question on what is the Biden administration’s end game for strikes on the Houthis by stating that “my hope is that we will find a way to deter Iran, but for the intermediate term, it’s going to require more action to prevent the Houthis from striking shipping.”
Co-host Phil Mattingly asked, “I do want to ask, on other foreign policy issues, because there is a lot going on right now, the fourth U.S. strikes in Yemen targeting Houthi rebels. The biggest question that I have given, one, the reticence of the administration to take this action until just a couple of weeks ago or a week ago is, what is the end game here?”

As I said in an earlier post. You don’t go after the Houthis. You communicate to Iran, diplomatically of course, that for any ship hit by a missile from Houthis territory they lose an oil platform. See how many they have and how many they are willing to lose. Somewhere along the line we need to go to the source and forth them to have skin in the game. Iran has been at war with us for 45 years and it’s been a totally one-sided affair. It’s time that ends. They want war then we should give them what they want. No ground troops but make them pay a price for the actions.

I believe that all of this surrogate activity (Hamas, Hezbollah, Houthis, Syria, are a subterfuge in preparation of the announcement that they have “the bomb”. Netanyahu this morning stated this plainly and that they would not allow Iran to have nuclear weapons. Which means, the Iranians should look up. There is a storm coming for them. Perhaps as easy as their first nuke blowing up and destroying a large part of Iran (by accident, of course).

Like it or not they have been at war with us since 1979. We can act like that war does not exist, but that doesn’t change the facts on the ground. They just recently staged a missile attack on our forces in Iraq and are continuing, through surrogates to attack our naval vessels in the Red Sea. A few years ago they commandeered a patrol vessel in the Gulf and circulated video of our naval personnel on their knees with their hands behind their heads. If allowing that type of ongoing provocation and bullying is all right with you, fine. I for one am a little tired of it. They believe there will be no consequences for their actions however grievous and for the last 45 years they have been correct. If they want to continue with their belligerent behavior let them, but let’s also let them know for every action on their part there will be an equal reaction on ours. They want to attack shipping in the Red Sea, then they can expect attacks on their commerce, i.e., oil platforms in the Gulf. The only thing these people understand is power and force. Talking and empty threats mean nothing to them. They have called our bluff over and over and we just keep drawing new lines in the sands that we won’t contest, and they know it. Are you willing to let them continue on this unobstructed path until there are mushrooms cloud over Tel Aviv and NYC because that is their ultimate goal? If so good for you. I’m guessing most people disagree.
