Well that’s kind of missing the fact that SI was going broke already. The fact is a weekly sports magazine with pictures had no way to compete in the modern world of a dozen sports cable channels plus a hundred websites all with video being updated every night. The world moved past SI.

Years ago they started publishing less often than weekly, I let my subscription, which I has since the 90s, lapse at that point.
