If God can cause the Flood, and destroy the world, I think He can probably handle those chumps, with ease.
The Church teaches that God had the Romans destroy Jerusalem in A.D. 70 as retribution for the Jews' rejection of Jesus. So I wouldn't assume that God necessarily sides with modern Israel.
No need to assume anything, as GOD sides with ALL of us!
