“Diestromena agape”
I've seen pictures of some of these people. Kills your appetite for lunch.
I tried websearching meaning of phrase, but it would only return meaning of agape. Then searched for meaning of diestromena: make crooked, misleading, perverse, etc.
“Eros” would be a much better fit for this context than “agape”.
Wasn’t the criminal FTX “leadership” (Sam Bankman-fried et al) in some sort of weird polyamorous relationship? And yes, as a group they were hideous.

Or maybe this is more of the patriarchy at play… convince women it’s ok for men to sleep around. Women can do it too as long as it’s with other women.
But human beings are jealous creatures and this thing can NEVER really work! And no, it isn't like polyandry nor polygamy, nor the old HAREM thing.

The only ones who benefit from a Polyamory relationship are women.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
None of that describes what they are talking about. Ergo, not love.
And people need to stop equating rubbing their genitals together with love. It isn't.

I read it when it came out, but only slightly remember the book. It was WEIRD, as far as I was concerned and I really didn’t know what it was about before I read it.
