Ann McElhinney and Phelim McAleer are back with their dramatised reconstruction of Mann vs Simberg and Steyn, now installed in a far grander courtroom - 132 - at the District of Columbia Superior Court. Day Eight began with Steyn's continuing cross-examination of the plaintiff. Michael E Mann's misogyny regarding Judith Curry audibly shocked the courtroom, but he recovered sufficiently to assert that the best proof that he really is a Nobel Laureate was that he was one of only two people to receive a standing ovation at some climate beano in Hawaii.
Then, at the end of the day, the judge, somewhat surprisingly, berated plaintiff's counsel for the irrelevance of their witnesses. From the official transcript: THE COURT: I still am struggling with the need for the first two witnesses in the case, Dr. Bradley - and I know that you needed someone to set the table, and I knew that we were walking a fine line from a … … the Court. THE COURT: All right. All right. It may very well be you don't need Dr. Mann -- I mean, Dr. Abraham. MR. WILLIAMS: We do need Dr. Abraham. THE COURT: All right. All right. We'll see you tomorrow.
Bradley, Oreskes and Abraham are all irrelevant to the issues in this trial: Mann has chosen not to prosecute his case, but to distract the jury with credentialed bigshots.

Today Rand Simberg is on the stand, followed by the witness Judge Irving thinks irrelevant. Mark's friend and inveterate Steyn Cruisemate Michele Bachmann will be back in court today, as will Mann's chum Bill Nye the Science Guy.

Steyn should call in John Clauser, a real Nobel prize winner in Physics. The kind that Bill Nye and Mike Mann can’t comprehend.
Clauser is a known Evil Climate Change Denier (i.e., Heretic!) and would demolish all the crap Mann has been pushing for decades.

spoiler alert: very good one today! espcially the video that Simburg linked to in his blog that was admitted and played for the jury. it’s contents: a Berkeley physicist clearly explained Mann’s “hide the decline” omission of late proxy tree-ring data, and how it was deceptive and un-scientific. if you use data, you are obligated to use it all, even when it disagrees with your theory. you never edit your results to fit your bias. basic scientific method 101.
I find it more than slightly humorous that Steyn is doing such a good job of defending himself.
honestly, after the plaintiffs have presented, and the defendants haven’t even started, i’m wondering why Mann hasn’t been sued for defamation by dozen’s of what he calls ‘deniers.’ but it is a DC jury, so it may not matter at all with the fix being in.

yeah. the harm thing came up today (yesterday) with Simburg talking about the harm to younger generations being ‘afraid to have children.’ because of Mann’s global warming lies.

Actually Bill Nye the PseudoScience guy’s degree is a
BS in Mechanical Engineering. He supposedly has a patent which is owned by Boeing.
