On Day Ten of the Mann vs Simberg and Steyn trial in the District of Columbia Superior Court, the Plaintiff finally closed his case - after a fortnight of repetitive testimony about the joys of "peer-review" from witnesses the judge himself said he failed to see the need for.
If you've missed the first three weeks of this trial, Kerry Wakefield in this week's edition of The Spectator Down Under provides an excellent primer. Here's the first sentence:
No single artefact did more to launch the climate change scare than Professor Michael E Mann's famous – or should that be infamous? – 1998 hockey stick graph.
That's true. For the first decade of this century, it was the most famous scientific graph on the planet.
But here's Miss Wakefield's close: Given the vindictive USD$83 million damages found against Trump in his case against serial rape accuser E. Jean Carroll, one cannot be optimistic about any jury trial in deep blue Washington DC. But Steyn is … … has been cleaned out. Sadly Steyn, representing himself, is now in a wheelchair, having recently suffered three heart attacks. If ever there were a case deserving funding, it is his. The trial continues.
Immediately warm-monger Mann rested, the Defendants rose and filed a motion for, per Simberg, "Judgment as a Matter of Law", which Steyn preferred to formulate in the more familiar Commonwealth phrase "No Case to Answer".

It sure seemed to me when the “Hide the trend!” email was exposed that Mann’s case was DOA, but somehow that truth didn’t carry over to the MSM and the swamp.
Any news about the perceived human caused global warming should have died that day, but here we are still swirling in the mire.
Lets hope the Judge does not allow this to go to a Jury and rules in Marks favor.
I have a hockey stick. Not signed but it is formed with a key ring at the end, top of the stick, not the part that controls the puck.
Printed on the side of the stick is,
“THE STEYNONLINE
LIBERTY STICK.”

I want to know how the evil, litigious bastard Mann’s lawyers are being paid, how much and by whom.
My grandfather always said, there are boxes of liberty, and once the first three are compromised and useless, there is only one box remaining:
The soap box
The ballot box
The jury box
The ammo box
The hockey stick graph has proven to be wrong and highly misleading.
“DR” Mann created theory of how to measure climate going back thousand years from some tree rings. His theory basically showed the climate to be steady, and actually cooling down after 1972. But climate wend up after 1972, so he pasted real climate data for his last 26 years. No wonder it came like hockey stick, there were two different data sticked together.
What has been proven later is, that his whole tree ring theory was wrong, and the climate in past warried a lot more than his theory was showing. He basically skipped both little ice age and medieval climate optimum, among others.
So hockey stick - by pasting together a wrong theory before 1972 and real data afterwards.
No wonder they came looking like hockey stick. They were different graphs.
But he never told anybody. Until some hackers got to the East Anglia University computers and found out.
I do not want to be sued by Dr Mann, but those kind of manipulation of data without revealing what he did, are called scientific fraud!
You are correct. My degrees are in geology and pharmacy and almost chemistry. If a grad student manipulated data for publication in this manner the school of pharmacy would have quietly escorted him to the door and banished he or her. Our school of Geology head was a bit rough around the edges. If such happened in his school I assure you one would have been able to hear is voice of anger all down the halls. Professor Mapp was a good man and honorable.
The D party is totally destroying this country. I suspect its going to happen.
