Why don't come through New Mexico too? I've asked that question several times in FR but no one provides an answer.
They cross there too but it’s less than 200 mile stretch and most of it has a border wall.
NM only has 2 minor border crossings with Mexico. While illegals don’t use border crossings, they do use the roads in Mexico that lead to the border crossings to get close to the border. They generally do not in large numbers trudge across the uninhabited desert on either side of the border. This means that even a modest extension of the border wall around the major border crossings would stop the majority of the illegals.
The NM border is extremely rough country. Hard desert. The kind you don't want to walk through. Most of the traffic, (from what I've read) is bussed within 5 miles of the border. There are literally no roads along a lot of that stretch in NM. Just hot by day, and cold by night. Hope that helps!

In New Mexico at the beginning of the Biden administration we had a lot of illegals and they were mostly women and I think they were mostly for the sex trade.
The California libs are just like Biden they let them through they don’t care they think they’re going to get votes.
Our governor and Biden are besties so maybe she’s asked him to go easy on New Mexico. She’s already unpopular I’m pretty sure she won the governorship the way Biden won the presidency so maybe she doesn’t want people being mad at her.
I know Gabe Vasquez was all for the land grab in our county and he’s seeing how much pushback he’s getting and all of a sudden he’s sitting on the fence and yes I think he won the same way that our governor and Biden won.
Oh yeah and most importantly we had a whole lot of fence completely built.
I know I’m giving a lot of reasons and I don’t know this for a fact but I think they protect the drug trade in the far South West corner. Those guys just want to pass the drugs along and get back home and get another load.

New Mexico is basically empty and there’s no big populations to fade into. Also, NM’s border area is relatively small and mountainous.
