Michael Mann is not a victim.
That was the theme of Mark's closing today in court. The judge began the day by reading the jury instructions and the afternoon was devoted to closing arguments. First up was the Plaintiff's counsel. Then Victoria Weatherford on behalf of Rand Simberg. And then Mark. The Plaintiff then got 15 minutes to rebut the Defenses' closing before the jury began its deliberations.
By this point, any one of Mark's readers could write the Plaintiff's closing. Mann was severely wronged... his life was terrible... That Mark and Rand are guilty of actual malice and knowingly spread false information — because the Plaintiff's counsel is also a mind reader and no one in their right mind could not possibly agree with the Plaintiff on everything because he's a famous climate scientist.
Which brings us to that final 15 minutes. As we have repeatedly reported over the past four weeks, this case for the Plaintiff has always been about "ruining" anyone who or anything that does not agree with him (again, his word not ours) — i.e., those on the right side of the political spectrum. And in today's final closing, his counsel was not even covert about it.

I’m following. I’m glad this is reaching an end. Mark could probably countersue as the one defamed. I understand Mark has some health issues. I hope he makes a full recovery.
I thought Ferrari was an okay film. Mann doesn’t deserve to be on trial for it.
Mark Mann is a disgraced liar and academic fraud. NOT A VICTIM. He, with Hansen and Gore deserve scorn for what they’ve caused.

Mann sued Tim Ball in Canada, the court DEMANDED that Mann reveal his climate materials — Mann chose NOT to comply with the court order.
The court ruled in favor of Tim Ball and ordered Mann to pay all court costs.
He has steadfastly refused and Tim Ball died a pauper.
A counter suit will likely just be a waste of money.

He is not an honest scientist either. He is a useful tool.

In his closing argument, plaintiff’s lawyer Williams launched into a spiel that all in a few sentence raised the name of PDJT in the context of defamation, ‘election deniers’, monetary penalties to ‘teach people a lesson’ and that “These attacks on climate scientists have to stop” thing, and at that point it sure seemed like the whole trial was just for going through the motions. And it almost seems like Williams could have said “just forget every single thing you’ve heard and go to your deliberations remembering that you are a DC jury who needs to do the right thing and support the climate narrative thing that is important to all our future.”
Well, I guess we’ll see if a bit of sanity prevails.

Is he on trial for Blackhat? That would make sense. That one was a disaster.
