Correct...in fact, Putin's first 30 minute ramble was an almost word for word recitation of his July 12, 2021 article, "On the Historical Unity of Russians and Ukrainians."

Basically, his argument is that Ukraine was once part of Russia, on and off, and he wants it back now.
