They may have enough info here to figure things out. If the level of intoxication was such that they couldn't consent, per OAS standards it's rape. The Bahamas will put them away for that. As to the State Dept warning, that seems to be irrelevant. State warned about gang related criminal activity, which this probably wasn't. Perhaps the tapes will clear that up. Lousy publicity for the Bahamas. The civil suit will go on for quite awhile presuming they try to blame Carnival.

Probably. If they were intoxicated, even if from drugs they ingested on their own, the rape charge will probably hold. Bahamas will be happy to put the two away. Civil suit, Carnival is a better target who likely can be sued in the US not the Bahamas.
This area exists only for tourism. It is in their interest to make sure “this didn’t happen”. Also, I read elsewhere that 1 of the rapists is closely related to a government official.
That’s where I’m at.
