CHICAGO (CBS) -- New data shine a light on just how much Chicago has been spending to support the migrant mission so far.
Just over 13,000 asylum seekers are living in city shelters – and city officials said they are preparing for a spike. But it not clear how the city would pay for such a spike.
If it feels confusing tracking the spending – the amount of money the city has spent, the amount the state has given, and how much the federal government has contributed – that is because it is, in fact, confusing

Is it because illegals are suddenly overwhelming their most cherished enclaves in Chicago, New York, and D.C.?
It will be paid for in the usual way. Red state taxpayers will have their infrastructure crumble and the government will use the tax dollars to subsidize the liberal mistakes. As always. and, the RINO class will abet the theft for the “good of the country.”
That and the fact that they are running interference for their beloved president hoping to make him look “tough on crime” right in time for the elections- after which they will look the other way again when Biden flip flops agsin on the issue, and illegals begin pouring in again. Then the cities will deport the illegals from their states to red states in hopes,of turning them blue.
This is yet another reason why the November 2024 election is so important. If the Democrats can cheat their way to control of the White House and both Houses of Congress, there WILL be a bailout of these “sanctuary cities”.

Asylum applicants could be required by contract to repay their City of Chicago costs + 18% interest + collection costs.

The Feds have Modern Monetary Theory running the budget. Print more money. Never has to be repaid. Just keep adding to the deficit and like unicorn farts, it is neutralized by printing more money.
The care and feeding of your favorite illegal aliens is a very expensive hobby. Who knew that Sanctuary would be so complicated? It looked so simple on the whiteboard in the faculty lounge!

Democrats and Democratic Socialists of America (and some RINO idiots) hold up a sign saying, "Migrant services here. 'Free money.' Little law enforcement and forgiving district attorneys. Come! Sanctuary!"
