As in its effectiveness wanes in time. I’m not saying vaccines are useless.
“More fear porn?”
It’s porn all the way down these days, pick your subject.
Apparently it is associated with people who have cats. I’m guessing outdoor cats that kill the rodents when they’re outside. So I should be safe since I have no cats.
I live in Missouri. Is there a ShowMePox?
They have stupid reasons for changing names. Wuhan or China virus name was banned and must be named Covid-19. Monkey pox became mpox. However cowpox and Alaska pox are ok.
Smallpox vaccine (and some others) has a dual effect: preventing infection (back in the day, get it every ten years) and preventing death. The latter effect seems very durable, at least with Dryvax.
Of course CDC has discontinued Dryvax and replaced it with a supposedly safer product. Since smallpox is gone, we will hopefully never test the new stuff in the real world.
Check out Demon in the Freezer by Preston.
Smallpox still exists in labs.
Don’t think so. I got the shot as a child, and then again the last year they gave the shot in 1971, when our high school band did a European Concert Tour. Suppose to last for 10 years.
Alaskapox? How demeaning for Alaska-nadians.
China took offense on their cu-uf, you know, that thing’
Will all virus’ be named after our states, except the blue ones, of course.
“”a recently discovered viral disease.””
Another BIG PHARMA vaccine which makes it imperative for a NEW disease to be found for it!
“”Alaskapox is okay?””
Good catch!
Well, that’s it, Alaska should mask up and have mail-in elections, along with an mDNA shot coming shortly.
“”every State will now have its own Pox?””
I guess it will depend on the “color” of the state...
IIRC another news report said the fatal case had been undergoing chemotherapy for cancer. The wrong time to get a odd bug. The skin lesions pox viruses often cause can point the diagnosis in in the right direction, if they’re thought of. Although determining which pox virus, in a patient who’s sick enough to want to do more than waiting it out, requires fancy testing. The sort of thing we used to trust the CDC to do. There are a couple drugs approved to treat smallpox (admittedly without human cases for testing) and the broad spectrum antiviral cidofivir, approved and tested for other indications, may also help orthopox viruses in general. But drug side effects are possible problems. Although my faith in the CDC is down I’d hope they learned something about these drug options during the recent monkeypox outbreak within the gay community.
When I was in Alaska in the 80’s, the isolated Inuit villages were very germaphobic of White people, Blacks and Hispanics not so much.

Just in time for the election so they can wheel out the mail in ballot cheat machine again.
Perhaps he was immune compromised because he had HIV/ AIDS thus this POX disease, OF COURSE the MSM would never print the truth!!
Just as the American Indian tribes had no immunities to the “white man’s” diseases, that also applied to the so-called “Arctic natives.” The Arctic peoples still have weak immunities to some of those diseases.
