I thought they didn’t name COVID the Hunan Virus or China Virus because it was discriminatory to name viruses with a geographical reference.

They have stupid reasons for changing names. Wuhan or China virus name was banned and must be named Covid-19. Monkey pox became mpox. However cowpox and Alaska pox are ok.
