Russian forces in occupied Ukraine are using Starlink terminals produced by Elon Musk's SpaceX for satellite internet in what is beginning to look like their "systemic" application, Kyiv's main military intelligence agency said on Sunday.
"Cases of the Russian occupiers' use of the given devices have been registered. It is beginning to take on a systemic nature," the Ukrainian defense ministry's Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR) quoted spokesman Andriy Yusov as saying.
In a statement, the agency said the terminals were being used by units like Russia's 83rd Air Assault Brigade, which is fighting near the embattled towns of Klishchiivka and Andriivka in the partially-occupied eastern region of Donetsk.

Doesn’t make sense...Russia doesn’t need Starlink...they have their own system.
I thought this was already addressed.
If so, what is the purpose?
In Musk’s defense, he said that Starlink would be available in Ukraine and no one complained. Since the the ‘World Community’ still considers Donbass and Crimea are part of Ukraine, it sounds like Musk is keeping his word.
So nothing newsworthy here.
“I thought this was already addressed.

This is the DoD trying to get full and absolute control of Starlink/Skynet.
I figured something nefarious.
Since Musk owns an internet company, I hope he hires hackers to divert Russian drones to their command centers.
A wish, I know, but it would be fun to see the aerial version of “Red October”.
I suspect this is a second try or a second report of the first try.
It makes sense that DOD wants to lock Musk out more than Russia needs Starlink.
To get clicks?
It has today’s date. I think you’re correct, it’s just a newer publishing of news from days ago.
Targeting systems can be designed to use multiple resources.
If the USA randomly offsets public GPS and jams the Russian equivalent, other positioning means must be employed.
If a missile enters DC airspace, one can expect the cell phone towers will go silent after the cell phones in the DC area are told to go silent.
The Chinese Huawei cell phones can’t be guaranteed to go silent.
How in heavens did UMCRevMom miss this propaganda?
“divert Russian drones to their command centers”
Drones might have a compass, AM/FM signal monitoring, sun/star position guidance, road tracking guidance, etc.
There is the possibility that Uke Propaganda sites are not “reporting” on this because the Ukes are pretending to be Russians to damage and control Musk.
As I understand it, the RUSSIANS in Ukraine PAY FOR THEIR STARLINKS. On the other hand, Musk let the UKRAINIANS HAVE IT FOR FREE. Just sayin’.
“ Since Musk owns an internet company, I hope he hires hackers to divert Russian drones to their command centers.”

It may be news to you but, despite your fantasies, Musk is not at war with the Russians.
“This is the DoD trying to get full and absolute control of Starlink/Skynet.”
The DOD has already contracted SpaceX to put up based on its gen 2 starlink birds a dedicated DOD version for Space Force. Some of the recent classified launches likely contained the initial birds. the last falcon heavy was launched in partially disposable mode they splashed the main booster which means they had enough payload on board to need the extra delta V leaving no fuel for a booster recovery.
The only official payload was the military space planes which is small and not more than 11,000lbs in mass...The falcon heavy throwing away its core can chunk 126,000lbs to orbit so there was over 115,000lbs of payload capacity on that flight inquiring minds would love to know what else was thrown into orbit.
“With just the core booster expended, and two side-boosters recovered, Musk estimates the payload penalty to be around 10%, which would still yield over 57 t (126,000 lb) of lift capability to LEO.”
Thanks. I can see them doing that.
