It has been destroyed by insane democrats, RINOs, racists and commie/socialist/globalists.

Don't forget UNIONS. Would you believe it? Remington was saddled with the United MINE WORKERS Union?

I’ve had Remingtons in my family for 70 years.

Ditto here. Utica (Whitesboro), Ithaca, and Syracuse (Fayetteville), 1956 to 1966. The schools were excellent.

Isn’t Georgia the state with that dumb ass fanni persecuting Trump? They should have relocated to FL or TX.

“Ruger are about the only ones that are still based in New England.”

Bill Ruger probably had the intention of moving the headquarters to Prescott AZ. It didn’t happen in his lifetime but the pistols are made here in Prescott and the local governments have an open invitation for Ruger to move here.

Similar situation with Buck Knives, an iconic blade manufacturer established in San Diego, California. The company could no longer operate under the repressive regime of taxes and regulations imposed by the Communists controlling the state and moved to Post Falls, Idaho.

I dropped out of Calasanctius Prep in Buffalo, took a GED, got a two-year-degree, and educated myself during commuting time. Tried attending more college. It was a joke. I knew more than the “professors”.

Things change. New York State has failed to anticipate, train its population for, and adapt to changes in infrastructure, education, politics, and financing.

From the story; “....As I've discussed here in the past, this story is rather personal for me. I grew up barely six miles from that factory and many of my relatives worked there over the years. I used to ride my bike past it with my friends several times per week when the weather permitted. Our home always had Remington Arms rifles and pistols in it, mixed in with some other brands.

......To their credit, the AP does a decent job of interviewing Remington employees and their family members to deliver a bit of context to the story. Remington Arms wasn't just a factory or a place to work. It was part of the community for far, far longer than living memory. Jobs there were looked upon as a birthright, with sons following their fathers into Remington's ranks for generation after generation. It was not uncommon to see the grandsons of upper-level managers joining their fathers on the production line or in other parts of the plant.....”

I have lived in Puget Sound part of the Soviet of Washington form almost all my life. I identify with what the author is saying. I feel much the same way about the Boeing aircraft company. It is a shell of its former self and probably with all the mismanagement going on and “quality mistakes” would be better off if it shut its doors. Generations of workers, who once had pride in what they did, and now are ashamed to say they work there.

“What do Massachusetts and New York have in common?”

Some of the most god-awful worst political specimens humanity can vomit out, and their voters.

Move to Texas or Mexico—they would be welcomed there.

My wife’s relatives (several) worked for Xerox or Kodak. It’s not just guns. New industries have not arisen to replace them.
