I do not see any mention of a Russian Committee 2024 party in the Duma and this Antonov name is not listed among the several candidates for the presidency in March.

This is from the relevant Wikis. There is no indication this Antonov person actually exists as anyone Russians have heard of — unlike the many candidates enraged by Putin’s approach in Ukraine being far too moderate.

Going through to the article, and then to the Telegram references, one finds the "committee." It is said there of "Sergey Antonov" and the entity -- "Official channel of the Association of Russian Opposition Politicians Against the Usurpation of Power in Russia "COMMITTEE - 2024". So the "committee" is registered through Tucows, and its identity is being protected by a company in Spain. And the site itself shows it was constructed as a WIX site. Not so Russian, after all.

As to the "Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation" it has a Russian URL, not one from Tucows with privacy provided through a Spanish company. Moreover, it provides its pages also in English, should one wish to look further.

It is very demonstrable that this is a faux bit of "news" from UAWire intended for English speakers. How would look any farther than just "face value," after all.
