WaPo: President Trump’s Abraham Accords forced Hamas’s hands into slaughter
American Thinker ^ | 02/12/2024 | Jack Hellner

For years, Iran and the Palestine Liberation Organization have vocalized their aspirations—“Death to Israel” and “Death to America”— and for years, under Democrats, the U.S. has funded Iran, which in turn, uses the money to support terrorists to advance these goals.

Barack Obama and Joe Biden decided the best thing to advance peace in the Middle East was to give Iran access to hundreds of billions of dollars.

On the other hand, President Trump decided that the best way to advance peace in the volatile region was to cut off funds to terrorism’s biggest sponsor (Iran), so it couldn’t fund terrorists and build as many weapons for themselves. He had a maximum pressure campaign on Iran.

Biden and his team of incompetents decided the best thing to do was give Iran more money. They opened up Iran’s ability to sell oil to fund Hamas and other terrorists. But, according to this author at the WaPo, it is Trump’s fault that Hamas attacked Israel because of the Abraham Peace Accords. It was Trump who made the Arabs in Gaza mad. He fueled their rage. Really? Because they were so calm before?

How Trump advanced Arab-Israeli peace but fueled Palestinian rage

Strategies that spawned the Abraham Accords — a transactional approach to foreign affairs that opens the way for unpredictable alliances and accommodations — shed light on how Trump might manage the Middle East crisis if voters return him to power.

The accords were perhaps Trump’s signature foreign policy achievement. Yet the diplomatic process they set in motion — especially the prospect of Saudi participation — contributed to Palestinian alienation that hastened the attack by Hamas, say current and former American, Israeli and Arab officials.

In this writer's warped mind, The Middle East would be much more dangerous if Trump were reelected.

You see, bringing peace to countries that recognize Israel’s right to exist is dangerous, and causes violence, because it makes Iran and the “Palestinians” mad.

Now that is a delusional “journalist.”

It's the same as saying that after three years of Biden reversing Trump’s policies to control the border, that the disaster of a massive incursion of illegals is the fault of Trump and the Republicans.

If they had policies that were ethical and worked —- regardless of whether I would agree with them—-they could sell their candidacies and win elections. The honest way.

Now that is a delusional “journalist.”

I agree fully but just for clarity's sake the name of the WaPo journal is Isaac Stanley-Becker.

Jack Hellner has written a lot of pieces for AmericanThinker. This one for instance:

President Trump secured peace and earned respect for America, then Joe Biden came in with a steamroller

The first sentence will tell you he is a good guy: "After four years of relative world peace and prosperity under President Trump, the media breathed a sigh of relief with Joe Biden’s (s)election, and cheered his staff picks—the “adults” were back in charge, and they had “experience.” "

This is as delusional as Putin claiming Poland forced Hitler to invade their country. The Abraham Accords were a recognition by the Arab states that they could not allow the Palestinian cause - which was indeed in large part backed by Iran - to determine their foreign policy forever. It is a recognition that countries have to act in their own best interests and not be tied to a grudge 1000 miles away over which they had no control and which had made no progress due mostly to Palestinian intransigence and lack of leadership and vision. It was a big change from the past, a different way of looking at and trying to resolve the conflict by isolating the Palestinian cause, perhaps forcing them to also take a different approach. Heaven knows that in the 30 years since Oslo the old ways were not working. Hamas attack was their attempt to try to reclaim the center stage and to some degree it has worked on the streets but in the world of diplomacy nobody seems to be openly breaking from the principle. The Arab countries may not like what they are seeing but there also seems to be some recognition that Hamas is reaping what they sowed. And perhaps, when the dust settles, they will have some self reflection and come to terms. Perhaps. I have my doubts not so much that the average person probably prefers peace to war, but that the Palestinians have no capable leadership and the Arab world has pretty much told them, by the Abraham deal and their silence during these times, that they are tired of their BS.

The Washington Post along with the New York Times forever lost its credibility when it absolutely refused to investigate or report on the Hunter Biden laptop that clearly showed Joe Biden to be a corrupt politician and a criminal. They are not journalists but propagandists for the Left. Decent, rational people should ignore these fakers.
