Vos recall effort attracting both Democrats and Republicans, organizers say (Wisconsin Speaker)

UNION GROVE — Organizers of a recall effort targeting Republican Assembly Speaker Robin Vos are voicing confidence that they are gathering enough signatures to force a new election.

Midway through a 60-day timetable for their petition drive, recall leaders say they are finding support among Republicans and Democrats.

“The energy is good on both sides,” said organizer Matthew Snorek of the Town of Burlington.

The group has until March 10 to collect about 6,800 signatures on a petition recalling Vos, who they accuse of opposing election reform efforts sparked by Republican Donald Trump’s loss to Democrat Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election.

Although they will not say how many signatures have been collected, Reynolds and others said they are confident they will reach 6,800.

“Oh, yeah,” volunteer Rob Schroeder said. “We got the numbers.”

The group aims to remove Vos from his seat in the 63rd Assembly District, which includes much of Mount Pleasant, Sturtevant, Union Grove, Yorkville, Burlington and Rochester.

If the recall moves forward, Vos will face a midterm election. No date has been announced, although recall organizers believe the election would take place April 23.

We all do, but of course they are going to find Democrats receptive because they believe it adds chaos to the Republican side. May they keep thinking that. But the Democrat support will evaporate once they nominate their replacement. The support has to be almost entirely from Republicans or they may not experience what they desire. So don’t get giddy because they get support from the Democrats, because at the end of the day, they are in it for themselves.

If they just provide signatures, that’s fine.

I wasn’t us that wanted to remove Santos. He could’ve been replaced as the nominee for election this year, but remained a representative for the remainder of the term. His scumbag NY colleagues helped get him removed.

Vos and Phelan are politicians in control of State houses, not congress. Kicking Vos and Phelan out to the curb will not result in the loss of control of the state house.

I am ALL for removing as many RINO’s as possible (if they are in predominantly GOP districts). In fact, I would prefer they get imprisoned and tortured, a fitting punishment for their treachery. /spit

“Vos and Phelan are politicians in control of State houses, not congress. Kicking Vos and Phelan out to the curb will not result in the loss of control of the state house.”

True enough in Texas at this time, but maybe not so true in Wisconsin — at least not after the Wisconsin Democrat Supreme Court gets through gerrymandering the state legislature. They’re working on it as we speak.

For the moment, Vos’ district is rated as R+9 which normally would be reasonably safe. However when it comes to special elections, Democrats are always motivated and organized; Republicans — whether at the national or state level — are not.

If a district is SO heavily GOP-oriented that the Rats don’t even bother trying, that’s one thing. But if there’s ANY chance of a pickup, and there is a *chance* in WI-63, they go all-in.

Backers of former President Donald Trump filed a petition Wednesday seeking to recall Wisconsin Republican Assembly Speaker Robin Vos from office, citing Vos’ opposition to Trump and his not moving forward with impeaching the state’s top elections official.

This is very confusing to me. The article blames Vos’s lack of effort to investigate the 2020 election. Records indicate Vos hired former Supreme Court Justice Michael Gableman and earmarked an almost unlimited amount of money for the investigation of which over $2 million has already been utilized. Vos reacted to the lack of discovered evidence from the investigation, which is no different than most of the country. And he has made the effort. Trump narrowly won Wisconsin in 2016 but lost to President Joe Biden by a similar margin of about 21,000 votes in 2020. The result has withstood two partial recounts, numerous lawsuits, an independent audit and a review by a conservative law firm. If it ain’t there, you can’t bleed a turnip.

Yeah, and he fired Michael Gableman three days after he won his primary.

No need to pretend to be conservative any more. Safely renominated.

Trump backed Vos’ primary opponent in the last election. That’s all I need to know to know that Vos is a deep state RINO.

Whoa, wait a minute. You state that just because Trump backs someone, “that’s all I need to know”. Trump is a lot of things, but picking the right person is not one of them. Trump is unquestionably the worst judge of character the political world has ever seen, even if the person has no character at all, he still can’t pick the right person. Trump’s pick should be the least of reasons to back someone. A tie breaker at best. Trump can’t possibly know all these people he endorses, so he needs to use his completely useless people picking skills to pick others to tell him who to pick. He just doesnt learn and some of you still think he learned his lesson. Why do so? You cant wish things into existence. Trashing me does not change what is. Everything that is now is because Trump insisted on picking losers at every turn. I still have his stickers on my cars and will continue to do so cause he is our best hope, but stating silly things like that just incriminates yourself showing people you dont use your ability to think for yourself. How are you any different than the guy who is going to vote Biden cause Taylor swift endorsed him. Have some respect for yourself.

“No need to pretend to be conservative any more. Safely renominated.”

The thread was entered about a recall based upon his accused non-work on the election problems. The numbers and people I supplied to you were directly in support of an investigation. So, considering Gableman, he had the money which he spent along with time enough to spend it to do that investigation, so whether he was sacked or not means far less to me than his closing report. What did he find for the time and cash? The information gathered is a lot more important than whether someone is high on the popularity scale. What did the info say? That needs to be public.

“...Vos is a deep state RINO...”

At some point in the determination of a deep state person the line has to be considered a little to deep. Vos is the speaker equivilent of a speaker of the house but much smaller. His little world in the state is not going to be that important when you consider other states are in the same boat and nothing is even being discussed in them.

If there was a fraud in the election, and I do believe there was, then proof is going to be hard to find and it has nothing to do with who as much as what and where. The loopholes in the system allowed them to happen. And no matter what people want to do in the state, throwing a single person under the bus that can prove something was done that is accountable and was put in motion and has to have information on it, is not the answer. It’s like arresting the pusher on the street while the cartel gets away scott free. He was not in charge of elections or possibly didn’t know anyone that was. The art of misdirection.

“Vos is the one standing in the way of election reform in WI!!!”

I live in Washington State. And I don’t care about their election possibilities. The only thing I care about there is what the investigation found before it was terminated.

The first thing you can see even before you walk into a room is what’s on part of the far wall. But if the door is closed, you don’t see anything. After the time, the hiring of an investigator, and $2M spent, there has to be something even of it’s nothing.
