Exactly, this is nothing more than a piece of propaganda designed to influence the public. They are expecting the media whores to run with this and create a public zeitgeist which would put pressure on Johnson to pass the “sell out America” Ukraine bill.
Next, I suspect we will see the media lying and writing articles about how the public now supports the Ukraine funding.
There are other ways besides blowing things up to use nuclear energy. This way SEEMS to skirt some treaties although I don’t see any technical reason that such a weapon couldn’t be pointed downwards.

They're certainly trying to imply that. The reality is that the platform is nuke powered to keep it on station for a long time. Many of ours's are as well.
The actual destructive end of the weapon would be either conventional or laser based.
