--- "When did liberals become so pro-war...... When did "conservatives" become the pro-Moscow party?

A fascinating non-answer.

The "construction" that there can be only two positions -- pro-Zelensky, and if not, then automatically pro-Moscow -- is a debate tactic which ignores other possible stances.

One can be concerned about Ukraine without being pro-Zelensky. After all, "regime change" and "color revolutions" have been the parlance of the Democrats for decades now, and currently aimed at Putin but not also at Zelensky.

One can hold that this is a European issue, and it is incumbent on Europe to send its EU member-state troops long before any notion of sending American troops. After all the "send US troops" trope was trotted out a couple of months back already, aimed at jiggling loose more money.

Lloyd Austin Threatens to Deploy Troops if Ukraine Aid is Shut Down American Greatness, 6 December 2023

One can be far more concerned about the southern border of the US, which is being overrun, placing the "border" issue of Ukraine as a secondary or tertiary issue.

One can be far more concerned about the economic lunacy of the greatest debtor nation in history rapidly piling up more debt for war and much more.

Debt Clock

$34.237 TRILLION dollars of so-called public debt. With no plans to address this issue, and Janet Yellen recently suggesting $60 TRILLION and more could be foreseen.

The latter is my great concern, a far greater concern than the Ukraine-Russia war between two non-NATO nations.

Propping up the political game of "more billions" for Ukraine or one is part of a "pro-Moscow party" is the argument of Democrats today. And "it will be Americans on the front lines" is a clearly stated Democrat talking point, per the quote from Coons of Delaware, the home state of Biden.

So one could ask, when did "conservatives" become pro-Democrat?

>When did “conservatives” become the pro-Moscow party?<

The better question is when did liberals become so anti-Russia. They used to love Russia. They honeymooned there. They had the Russian Reset. They gave our uranium to them. They envied the power that Putin wielded and wished Clinton or Obama could be the same. They took Russian money for their foundations. Even the son of a vice president rubbed elbows with a Russian oligarch lady.

This apparent love affair with Russia abruptly ended when Hillary had to use Russia to frame Trump. Now the left hates Russia.

This isn’t conservatives being pro-Moscow. It’s wondering why we are sending so much money to a historically corrupt country whose president declared himself president for life.

Not pro-Moscow. Pro-the-lesser-of-two-evils party. The US is evil, more evil at this point than the Russians. That doesn’t mean that the Russians Angels.
