“They don’t care about any other businessmen, just Trump and his sons.”
************
Maybe so, but many businessmen there will take note of the rise of vindictive and capricious lawfare. Those with substantial assets in the state may not be comfortable with the political coercion and risk factors now in play, not to mention the onerous taxes.
All true, but its not just NY. Delaware just decided that it would be cool to destroy shareholder autonomy just to stick it to Elon. Characteristically, Musk didn’t let any grass grow under his feet and re registered Tesla in Texas.
Moving your business to TX or FLA might be a smart move for now, but folks need to think about where they’re going to actually reside as well. Its not enough to live in a red state, its critical to have your principal residence in a red county. Harris, Travis, or Bexar, for example are almost as dangerous as Los Angeles or San Francisco, from a lawfare risk point of view.
Those fleeing the blue states may not be traditional conservatives, but they are getting “red pilled” fast. I’ve seen little evidence that they’re voting for the blue policies that forced them from their homes. They might lean a little libertarian (as do many entrepreneurs and business people) but that is probably OK.
The hard part for the blue will be when they drive out a critical mass of their tax base;that’s when things will get interesting.
