A group of 20 leading tech companies on Friday announced a joint commitment to combat AI misinformation in this year’s elections.

The industry is specifically targeting deepfakes, which can use deceptive audio, video and images to mimic key stakeholders in democratic elections or to provide false voting information.

Microsoft , Meta , Google , Amazon , IBM , Adobe and chip designer Arm all signed the accord. Artificial intelligence startups OpenAI, Anthropic and Stability AI also joined the group, alongside social media companies such as Snap , TikTok and X.

Tech platforms are preparing for a huge year of elections around the world that affect upward of four billion people in more than 40 countries. The rise of AI-generated content has led to serious election-related misinformation concerns, with the number of deepfakes that have been created increasing 900% year over year, according to data from Clarity, a machine learning firm.

How are the azhos going to “combat” all the crap they’ve been spreading about President Trump, his family, friends and associates for the past 8 years? The bass turds can’t make the Government’s new LAWFARE program against candidates who refuse to toe their line just go away.

A little surprised to see Musk’s company joining in the conspiracy.

And so the new "axis powers" sign a "Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact" of sorts to assure that there shall be pressure against any rubes who dare disagree with The Narrative™.

Liberty can be such an annoyance to those who would rule, whether it be a Samizdat, mimeographed "White Rose" messages, or even that old American standby -- dissent.

LOL! In a nutshell, right? Their track record on “fact checking” “misinformation” does not inspire confidence. Now they’re agreeing to coordinate on telling people what to think.

Because American citizens are too dense to know the truth.

As Chuck Schumer warned Trump: "Intelligence agencies have six ways from Sunday of getting back at you."

This is their doing.

“Propaganda was one of the most important tools the Nazis used to shape the beliefs and attitudes of the German public. Through posters, film, radio, museum exhibits, and other media, they bombarded the German public with messages designed to build support for and gain acceptance of their vision for the future of Germany.”

Gee, sounds like today’s misinformation misinformation.

Yay... Windows!

They are talking about AI generated information. I think any issues with AI-generated misinformation could be easily fixed by passing a law stating that all AI-generated content has to be clearly and unmistakably labeled as such. Failing to identify such content as AI-generated should be punishable by VERY harsh sentencing.

This is going to happen fast too. It will probably be included in the next Windows update.

joint commitment to combat AI misinformation

If it's strictly AI stuff, I wouldn't be too worried about it. As long as real people don't get censored on X. Musk knows a thing or two and has concerns about the dangers of AI.
