WASHINGTON — The Teamsters union's political action committee donated $45,000 to the Republican National Committee's convention fund in January, according to federal election commission disclosures, but an RNC official told NBC News that "we haven’t received any contribution."
The Teamsters PAC’s donations overwhelmingly go toward Democrats, but the $45,000 donation would be the first significant donation to the RNC in years. The fund is specifically designated for the convention rather than general usage.

hedging their bets: they gave 3 times as much to Dems in December ... still, interesting they feel the need to hedge ...
Union members should be able to vote in a new union every two years. This would not be an election to unionize, but to change Union management whenever Union workers felt it was necessary. This would introduce competition and fairness into union representation and reduce the politicization of union management.
This could be the beginning of a major political shift by the Teamsters. However, I doubt it. More likely it’s just a warning to the Democrats: “You know we love you. But you’ve got do more for us.”
As a side note, I was an involuntary member of a union for decades. Never once was the membership able to vote on where our political donations went. It was all decided by the bosses behind closed doors.
I was a Teamster a long time ago. We had a Business Agent from our local who was shot in the foot. We on the dock all used to joke about it saying that they came to get him when he had his feet up on his desk, taking a nap.
Unfortunately they gave it to the RNC. Might as well burned it.
Yeah, you got that right.
Long ago, I was in Teamsters Union. Our BA went to some big meeting with his bosses. Went there healthy, came back dead. I got out of there.
I remember the second Clinton campaign. Union leadership was beside themselves trying to get Slick reelected. Tens of thousands of union man hours and untold millions were donated. That same year we went on strike. The Teamster strike benefit? $56/wk. We were starved out in three weeks but got four more years of Slick and his bi+ch.
first large donation to RNC in years
So instead of Democrats, they gave it to anti-Trumpers
Until it is received, it hasn't been given.
I have nothing but terrible memories of teamsters from the days I did trade shows. The ones I dealt with were reprehensible people and worse leaders. They enjoyed being jerks to we little companies. They cost me thousands in damaged materials when they were put on break and dropped everything they were moving in the middle of a thunderstorm. When I tried to move the boxes to shelter a fat angry jerk supervisor scolded me and threatened to have us ejected from the event if I moved my stuff without union help. BUT they were on break so, rain it did, all over my stuff... Ruined all the paper flyers we had printed. Not once did I meet a single one who was courteous or respectful of me, my staff, or my equipment. Maybe it is something about the trade show division that attracts the jerks.
Don’t get me started about the other unions I had to deal with in my aircraft days... Can’t say I’m a big fan of unions and no wonder they have to force people to join them to make a living.
Good times....
“More likely it’s just a warning to the Democrats”
Winner winner chicken dinner.
Until the RNC confirms receipt, this is just fake news.
Back when the Mob had its rat claws deep into them.
