That will just make them double down.

When is some GOP member going to introduce a bill to ban the ban?

Sasquatch Face Letitia and Nicotine Lips Engoron now have even more reason to fear ammunition. I’m sure they both have targets on their backs by some very powerful people in New York, and I don’t mean Trump. These two will need to be looking over their shoulders for the rest of their arrogant lives.

They were banned in California as “billy clubs” until just recently.

#1, Military ammunition is made under the constraints of the Hague Accords. American civilians are under no such restrictions, so if they want to shoot soft-point “dum-dum” bullets, or full-fledged hollow points (not OTM), there’s nothing stopping them.

On top of which, the very best 5.56 NATO ammunition the US military uses is made by Black Hills Ammunition (specifically, the MK262 [Mod0 or Mod1]), so the best stuff the military uses isn’t made in government arsenals.

#2, There will be other consequences if they do this because the Lake City ammunition plant in particular is run by Olin Winchester. They were awarded the contract on the basis of their bid and the amount they bid was based on potential for profits in excess of the contract from the sale to the general public of whatever ammunition they could produce in excess of the government’s needs. So the government’s ammunition costs have been being subsidized by civilian shooters.

So the operating costs of the government’s munitions plants will increase. And since the DoD has a fixed budget, this will necessarily result in a diminution of military preparedness. It might not all fall on ammunition purchases but they’ll have to make cuts somewhere, just because Winchester can’t sell surplus ammo to the private sector.

And it also will reduce the availability of inexpensive bulk ammo to the civilian sector. And even the Japanese realized the futility of trying to invade American because “there would be a rifle behind every blade of grass.”

So it’s a move that reduces America’s security on two fronts.

Which explains exactly why the demoncrats would be in favor of it.

Civilian ammo (.223) is loaded hotter than full metal jacket 5.56. Yet somehow the fmj is more scary?

Some rifle makers void the WARRANTEE if .223 is used in a 5.56 rifle.
I have never had a problem with either. After all, it is simply a varmint load between the Rem .222 and the Rem .222 Magnum.
There are others such as the .22 Swift rounds that go up to 4000 fps.

“Weapons of war don’t belong on American streets!”.

That claim was used in the 1960s to get the import of 5 shot bolt action army surplus rifles banned in the US in 1968.

Dear Director Feldman,

We write on behalf of the States of New York, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Hawai‘i, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington (the “States”) to express concern about recent reports that billions of rounds of military-grade ammunition manufactured at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant have been sold on the commercial market, leading to their use in many of the most tragic mass shootings in recent history.

Katie Hobbs being the Arizona SOS during her own gubernatorial election continues to pay dividends for the Communists.

And this embarrassing crap is just another reason to be glad I moved from Maryland to Florida, which signed the opposition letter.

An assault weapon is not a firearms technical term. It’s a military term. It’s meaning has since been altered by gun control advocates. An assault weapon is the primary weapon used by a military armed force. WW II: the M1 was the main assault weapon. In Vietnam it was the M16. If I were to organize my own army, I wouldn’t have a sufficient budget to issue any sort of firearm. In that case the assault weapon would probably be a 36”-long 2 x 4.

Coincidentally that’s the number of Constitutional Carry states last time I checked.

The Venn would be interesting, maybe.

A quick look informs me 25 of the 28 are Constitutional carry states, two of the remaining three have Constitutional Carry bills approaching passage. One state, Virginia, has not enacted Constitutional Carry.
