Donald Trump WINS South Carolina 2024 Republican Primary: Nikki Haley handed a whopping defeat in her home state

Donald Trump took another step towards a general election rematch with Joe Biden by decimating Nikki Haley in her home state in the South Carolina Republican primary.

The result was called just seconds after polls closed in an embarrassing night for Haley who has vowed to stay in the race even as her path to the nomination rapidly closes.

Trump declared his swift victory at his Election Day party held on the South Carolina State Fairgrounds in Columbia, saying with a smirk: 'This was a little sooner than we anticipated.'

Trump's victory builds on the surging momentum he has built coming out of wins in Iowa, New Hampshire and Nevada.

But Trump is shifting his messaging from the primary, telling his voters they need to start focusing on the general election in November.

'Nine months is a long time,' he noted of the timeline before the presidential election later this year. 'I just wish we could do it quicker.'

'You know, in certain countries, you're allowed to call your election date,' he added. 'If I had the right to do it, I'd do it tomorrow. I'd say we're having an election tomorrow.'

The former president doesn't want to lose the momentum he feels he has on the heels of his sweeping wins and multiple indictments that he claims are political persecutions.

'South Carolina – thank you very much. Go home, get rest. We have a lot of work ahead of us,' Trump urged in remarks where he never mentioned his remaining Republican rival.

Haley's loss on Saturday marks the first time a Republican candidate has lost their home state presidential primary election in more than 50 years. The previous was Richard Nixon, who lost California's primary to Ronald Reagan – who was also from California.

What is going to happen when some court or states decide not to let us vote for Trump or they steal the election again or they won’t concede again or they cripple his administration before it even begins or they just go ahead and assassinate him?

Over half of votes were Democrat Biden voters crossing over to sabotage Trump.

It marks the first time a Republican candidate has lost their home state primary election in more than 50 year

She gets the hood slammed on her head in her home state, and she's smiling as if she didn't get her bell rung. What a hoot.

We’re going to be on our own. I am grateful for Trump, but few back him up.

Nikki Haley has already moved to center. Could she later switch and run as an independent, stealing votes from both Trump and Biden but mostly weakening Trump. I just don’t see a clear cut election between just Biden and Trump happening.

As Teddy Kennedy said—We will cross that bridge when we get to it.

Lol.

Elections are at least partially about logistics.

It is too late to form a new third party and get on the ballot in most states.

The only way she could run on a third party and be on the ballot in most states would be to get the nomination from the Green Party of the Libertarian Party.

Those are highly unlikely.

This is the same issue RFK Jr. is facing right now. His own effort to get on the ballots is struggling. He is trying to convince one of these other parties to take him.

She’d be pretty stupid to keep going. Sure, she being bankrolled by the commies to do this and she can increase her net worth. But she’s sabotaging her future not only with GOP but in the entire political scene.
Who will take her seriously now?

It was closer (55-44) than the pre-election polls suggested (a 30+ lead for Trump). I think the result will encourage Haley even more to stay in the race.

“...the RINO and Democrat forces will be/are? out there ‘counting’ votes...”

Worse than this for her is that this was an open primary, in her home state, and even with the crossover votes coming from the liberals it was over almost before the polls were closed. When is the GOP going to admit she can not only not win, but she is by being beat so bad possibly turning her voters over to independents and even Biden? She is not, only, a danger to win, she’s, also, a danger to lose. Stand down!

Even longer Reagan was unopposed in 1968. Nixon not on ballot that is not a loss

Brandon: “C’mon man, I won in South Carolina.”

Trump beat Haley by more votes than Biden received, so Brandon actually finished in 3rd place.
