California Democrat sponsors bill to make insurers report firearm ownership
American Thinker ^ | 2/25/24 | Eric Utter

Democrat California Assemblymember Mike Gipson, who represents Los Angeles-area cities such as Compton, recently authored bill AB-3067, which would require insurance companies to inquire about -- and report on -- the number of firearms owned by folks seeking homeowner’s insurance.

Can you say “slippery slope”?

This is a preposterous invasion of privacy and would continue the recent trend of the federal government coercing private companies to do its nefarious bidding.

Insurance is already a heavily regulated industry. It isn’t much of a stretch to imagine government at first “suggesting” and later mandating that insurance companies surcharge for firearm ownership, making the premiums of those protected by the Second Amendment higher than they would otherwise be. And what next? Would insurers have to report wine cellars, humidors, wet bars, and knife collections? Or perhaps the number and value of any and all fur coats in the household?

It is easy to envision the government someday soon mandating surcharges on those who own only gasoline-powered vehicles. Etc., etc.

Throwing whatever feces the left generates at a wall to see what might stick.

Will be overturned at some level and then on to their next attempt.

Xi is not impressed with these impotent efforts. He wants us disarmed, now!

This may be to our advantage.

An incremental move, using insurance companies, such as this, might be easier to defeat than a more direct approach.

The Goobers need to force the Cauliphonya RAT azho to add ownership of vehicles, especially vans, hammers, bats, bayonets, machetes, any types of poison, duct tape, rope, garrotes, zip ties, handcuffs, hoodies, balaclavas, insurance policies on which they are the beneficiary and a criminal rap sheet to his fag bill. Everyone is a potential killer when they have any of these items in their possession according Cauliphonya politicians. Sort of a Cauliphonya Prop 65 for murderers.

Neighbors have barrels and triggers of all our guns.

We have all the remaining parts.

Our neighbors don’t have guns.

This household doesn’t have guns.

I bet he’s of the race of professional victims and likely wears earrings. He knows blacks will not comply and nor will they be prosecuted but whites will comply or be prosecuted and thereby be defenseless. They wish us dead or in concentration camps.

Who couldn’t see that one coming?

It was a given once people were required to report to the insurance companies their firearms ownership.

Most homeowners policies already have a coverage for one or two firearms. If more you have to get a second rider for the insurance> I was turned down fifty three years ago because I had “too many” of these items.

A man bought a hunting rifle in a private sell, then several years later went hunting in Canada. Upon return to the US he was stopped at the border because his rifle had been reported stolen.
It seems the seller had a burglary and when filing for his insurance listed the sold firearms as “stolen”.

The answer to any such inquiry by an insurance company, or your doctor, should be “break into my house some evening, and you’ll find out”.

“I despise the left.”

Me too, but since John Cornyn here in Texas didn’t support Trump 100% of the time (only 90%), I’ll NEVER vote for him again. Instead, it will be better for a DEMOCRAT to win, and who cares if the Democrat votes AGAINST Trump 100% of the time, at least I can say that I did my part in teaching those GOP SOBs a lesson!

Well hard to feel sorry for the citizens of California, they voted this mess in..so enjoy.

Remember, a whole lot of voters were imported into California to get to where they are.

California used to be reasonably Republican...
